About AFLO. the poet
AFLO. the poet (she/they) is a Brighton-based spoken word artist, activist and academic whose work challenges the status quo through bold, lived‑experience storytelling. Emerging during the 2020 resurgence of Black Lives Matter, AFLO. quickly became known for poetry that blends sharp social commentary with emotional depth, exploring race, identity, mental health and justice. Alongside performing on stages from community venues to Glastonbury and TEDx, she facilitates workshops and co-founded the anti-racist organisation BARCO. Currently pursuing a PhD in Social Science, AFLO. uses poetry as protest, healing, and truth-telling—carving out space for marginalised voices and collective liberation.
