Are you between 18 and 25 and passionate about event planning? Whether you’re just starting out or looking to build on your existing skills, our Trainee Producers Programme is designed for you!

Over the course of 12 engaging weeks, you’ll dive into all aspects of event planning, plus the exciting opportunity to co-produce your very own live poetry event at Dugdale Arts Centre with the programme co-hort.

Perks of the programme

Through Young Producers, you will develop key industry and transferable skills in creative producing. We do this through a programme of workshops, leadership training, networking opportunities and professional practice, working with some of the UK’s leading poets, industry professionals and arts organisation.

As well as producing your own professional event, you will also:
– Be part of a cohort of young producers
– Gain skills in programming, production and marketing
– Contribute to the cultural landscape in Enfield.

Expenses for travel will be covered and you will receive a freelancers fee for the event days.

Last year, our group of 10 producers put on a sold out show in DAC, hosting some of Enfields finest poetic talent.

Sessions

Sessions are in person between December and January, with final event days taking place in February and March 2026. Full details can be found on our project page. Follow the ‘apply here’ link to read more.

A monthly poetry meetup, for women aged 27 plus, cultivating community and creative exchange.

In partnership with Apples & Snakes, TWENTY-SEVEN is a free monthly meetup for women aged 27 plus to engage in their creativity and empower them in building a supportive, intergenerational community through poetry.

Guided by poet & cultural producer Koko Brown, led by the women in the room, each session combines time to write and time to share in an informal, communal space.

Please note that the Tuesday 31 March session start time is earlier than previous sessions.

Session Dates – 10am – 11:00am:
31 March 2026
28 April 2026

Are these sessions for me?
These sessions are for women who enjoy writing poetry in notebooks, on the Notes app or just random scraps of paper. These sessions are for women who came across a professional poet and would love to share that brilliant poem they found. These sessions are for women who want to explore and express their creative potential… and build a community along the way.

What can I expect?
1 hour dedicated to your writing, sharing and your creative self.

You can bring something you’re currently working on, use the session prompt to get started on something new or see where the mood takes you – there are no expectations!

Each session begins with Koko leading a short check-in, sharing a poem & a prompt. From here we’ll have about 20 minutes for writing and 20 minutes of open space for us to collectively share.

If you’d like to share something – this could be your own writing, work from professional poets or even an interesting poetry podcast you’ve found – you can sign up in the session. You’ll have roughly 3 minutes (so we can hear from as many people as possible) but, other than that, there are no boundaries.

What do I need?
– Access to Zoom (via laptop, tablet or smartphone) for our cameras-on session.
– Whatever you’d normally use to write with – this is a judgement free zone!
– Space to allow yourself to be a little selfish & focus on you

The Sound of Nature in Poetry

A Writing and Vocal Delivery Workshop with Livia Kojo Alour

Join international touring musician and poet Livia Kojo Alour for a dynamic and inspiring workshop exploring the intersection of nature, imagination, and creative expression.

In this two-part session, participants will be invited to envision how future public green spaces—gardens, forests, and beyond—might be reimagined and reshaped through community access and creativity.

Through creative writing exercises, Livia will help you channel feelings like climate anxiety into poetic responses, using a futuristic lens to reimagine landscapes of connection and ecological hope.

In the second half of the workshop, you’ll shift from page to voice. Livia will guide you through voice-opening techniques designed to help you strengthen your vocal presence—whether for poetic stage performance or personal practice.

This session welcomes poets, writers and vocalists of all levels. Whether you’re experienced or just starting out, you’ll leave with fresh ideas, expanded expression, and tools to keep your creativity thriving.

Let your voice echo with the sound of nature—reimagined!

Event details

The Sound of Poetry takes place on Thursday 31 July, 6.30-9pm.
This online workshop is limited to 15 places, and is free – via Zoom.
