Lence Presents … Blur the Lines at City Varieties for Leeds Jazz Festival 2026

Join us for a very special event featuring an exceptional selection of Yorkshire-based poets, rappers, singers and musicians for Leeds Jazz Festival 2026!

Blur the Lines is a celebration of grassroots creativity in Leeds. Expect an atmosphere like no other as we celebrate a blurring of the lines between jazz, hip hop and poetry!

The event is curated and produced by rap and spoken word artist Lence, who set out to create a platform that brings artists from different creative backgrounds into one space, as well as blurring the lines between rap and poetry.
It's about bringing artists and audiences into spaces they’ve never been in before and transforming what’s possible for grassroots artists in Leeds and beyond.

It's been quite the journey for Blur the Lines with sold out shows at Leeds Playhouse, a special night at Howard Assembly Room for Leeds Jazz Festival, several appearances as part of Leeds Lit Fest at Leeds Library and Hyde Park Book Club, as well as events in association with Come Play With Me and with Slunglow.
